New government figures show that while flu cases seem to be leveling off nationwide, flu activity is still rising in the Western U.S. Stephanie Snitily is a public health nurse with the Chelan-Douglas Health District. She was giving free flu shots Thursday to participants in the annual Community Resource Fair in Wenatchee, which benefits low income and homeless people.
Health District officials say this year's influenza is more widespread than in last year's milder season. Some tips, if you haven't gotten your flu shot, it's not too late. Cover your cough, wash your hands often, especially after touching your nose or mouth and if you are ill, stay home.
