Grant County prosecutors have charged a Quincy man with first degree assault for the stabbing of his roommate on January 12th.
Authorities say 22-year old Rafael Gamboa used a kitchen knife when he shanked a housemate in the head and shoulder.
The victim was taken to Quincy Valley Medical Center for injures to his ear, shoulder and right eyebrow.
Gamboa claims that he was having mental issues at the time of the incident and did it for no reason.
