Supporters of extending the Apple Capital Loop Trail on the eastside to Rocky Reach Dam are holding a meeting tonight (tue) to make their case for a fundraising drive to finance the construction. Wenatchee attorney Bob Parlette, one of the original supporters of the Loop Trail, says building the trail to connect Confluence State Park with Lincoln Rock State Park - something that has already been OK'd by Douglas County Commissioners and the State Parks and Recreation Board - is going to cost upwards of five million dollars...
Parlette says when the original estimates on the project were made more than ten years ago, the price tag on the entire project was a million dollars. Parlette says he wants to target agricultural, tourist and recreation, and financial communities for funding the project, along with the general public.
