01/31/13 Rebuilding Together Project SIgnups Start (Audio)



Helping seniors and the disabled stay in their homes by doing simple repairs and improvements is the mission of Rebuilding Together, a nationwide group that has been here in the Wenatchee area for about a dozen years. Marilyn Lancaster is the local coordinator for the group, which is accepting applications for a new round of projects for this spring. Lancaster says their group has grown from working on three houses in their first year to 17 houses last year. Many of the repairs they do are minor:
Criteria for those who qualify for work on their homes include having an income of less than 27-thousand dollars a year, owing their home and homeowners insurance. The work is usually done on a Saturday in the spring, this year it's set for May 18th. Applications are available by calling 881-4721, or online at www.rtwenatchee.org.
