State Patrol says a big rig destroyed a car injuring two on state route 2 just south of Orondo Monday.
Shortly before 5p.m., troopers say a northbound sedan was struck when its driver, 65-year old Jesus Aparicio of Brewster turned left in front of a southbound logging truck.
The semi's driver, 48-year old Lorin Massingale was unharmed but two of the sedan's three occupants weren't so lucky.
Authorities say the car was so badly damage Orondo Fire crews used the "jaws of life" to get the passengers out of the vehicle.
Hospital officials say Aparicio's passenger, 36-year old Maria Escareno-Santos, was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for her injuries.
Officials also say that Aparcio is in stable condition at Central Washington Hospital and the other passenger, two year old Vanessa Perez-Escareno is unhurt.
Aparcio has been cited for failing to yield the right of way.
