02/07/13 Flu Still Active in North Central Washington

The Washington state Health Department has been actively promoting vaccinations in wake of a severe flu season. There have been 28 lab-confirmed flu deaths in Washington. Mary Small of the Chelan-Douglas Health District has seen zero influenza related deaths but the disease has made its mark locally. Small says the flu this season is a harsh strain, especially on the elderly. If you become ill, Small advises that you keep a lengthy distance from those around you. For vaccinations, go to your pharmacy or local health care provider.
