More than a thousand Douglas County PUD customers have power after an outage in East Wenatchee Sunday afternoon.

PUD spokesperson Meaghan Vibbert says the outage started at a substation.

"Turns out that there was a bad breaker controller," said Vibbert. "It failed at the Eastmont substation. So that took out a whole feeder, so 1,200 customers. We were able to transfer that load to a different feeder."

Power was restored ay 4:45 Sunday afternoon after about two hours. The outage was in an area south of Wenatchee Golf and Country Club.
