North Central Educational Service District released news that 29 school districts within NCESD will have a program expansion thanks to Junior Achievement of Washington receiving a $20,000 gift.

The $20,000 was gifted by Young Adult Consumer Education Trust (YACET).

"We've decided to partner with Junior Achievement after we launched a program through them this year at Orchard Middle School. We wanted to make sure students and our local NCESD have a chance at a high quality financial literacy program," said Jessi Mendoza, YACET board member.

Junior Achievement is a national organization that strives to give students the tools and education to reach economic success and prepare young people for the future in terms of financial and work readiness. With the monetary gift from Young Adult Consumer Education Trust, Junior Achievement will be able to hire a regional coordinator to build local support for Junior Achievement's programs within the districts.

"This $20,000 donation is going to help them expand to our local schools and also provide resources and hopefully have somebody locally here, boots on the ground. So we can partner with schools and get volunteers and coordinate the right people and get them in the right places so students have access to these programs," said Mendoza.
