2nd Annual Apple Awards Celebrates Student Theatre Virtually

Numerica Performing Arts Center has announced the nominees selected from North Central Washington high schools for next Monday's virtual Apple Awards. For the second year, the awards program will celebrate students innovation and excellence in theatre.

"We wanted to figure out a way to continue with this tradition and figure out a way to honor these students. But knowing can't do it live on our stage like we did in the past, we came up this online version," said Alex Haley, interim executive director.

The award ceremony will be featured live on Numerica PAC's Facebook, YouTube and website at 7 p.m. Presenters from the industry, not just those based in Wenatchee but from all over the country, will present awards as well as perform sketches and various other acts.

"We'll have the students live on a Zoom conference call as the awards are announced, so they'll have a chance to speak live," said Haley.

The event is free, however there is a fundraiser running parallel to the event. People can donate at the Numerica PAC website throughout the evening.
