“The Humane Society is a community resource for pet owners for happy occasions, like pet adoption, but also other needs, like wildfires.” says Taylor Sharp, Executive Director.  “WVHS is part of the community and is here for pet owners. If our neighbors are worried about losing their homes, we can help reduce some of the stress by providing a safe shelter for their pets.”

Anyone interested in emergency boarding should call the shelter ahead of time to ensure there is space available, even if that means calling while driving to the shelter.

During office hours of 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, evacuees can reach the shelter’s front desk by dialing 509-662-9577.
