The Beaver Creek Fire, six miles northeast of Plain has been contained at 2 acres.  Earlier estimates put the fire at 6 acres but the figure was reduced after an infrared flight to map the fire.

The fire was reported Tuesday morning and ground crews, 3 helicopters and one retardant drop knocked down the fire on Forest Service land.  Today,  about 50 firefighters and a helicopter will improve containment lines and begin mop up.

A helicopter base is being set up at Fish Lake airstrip. The public is advised to be cautious while driving in the area due to both increased fire and aircraft traffic.

The fire was started by lightning.  No structures are threatened and there are no road or trail closures in place.
