Students attending Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake this fall will not be required to provide proof of a COVID vaccination.

On Thursday, the school announced the mandate it’s had in place for all students attending in-person classes since the beginning of the 2021-22 school year would be removed.

Administrators at the college are still strongly recommending that all students receive a vaccine prior to the coming school year, and noted that its mandate could be reinstated if COVID infection rates increase or if the local health authority recommends such action.
