The body of Okanogan County Fire Assistant Chief Christian Johnson returned home over the weekend as preparations are underway for his memorial.

Several residents lined the street to see the end of the journey that began Saturday morning in Bothell before ending in Okanogan around 2:30 p.m.

Johnson suffered second- and third-degree burns over more than half his body fighting the Spring Coulee Fire. He had been in Harborview Medical Center in a coma as he tried to recover before passing in early October.

His memorial service will take place October 24th and the Okanogan County Fairgrounds.
