Kittitas County Sheriff Deputies responded to reports of an assault at a campsite of Kachess Road near Easton last week which ended up in a short standoff.

When law enforcement arrived, the discovered that the suspect was a 32-year-old Seattle man, Jared Bruce, had a felony warrant for illegal possession of a firearm and it was believed he was armed.

When they approached where Bruce was, there was a short standoff that was eventually resolved peacefully.

Further investigation found that in addition to illegally being possession of a handgun, Bruce also had methamphetamine, a stolen truck, and stolen license plates from two other vehicles.
