Companies are adapting customer service and protocol while Washington state transitions into uncharted territory due to COVID-19. Cascade Natural Gas is putting new measures in place to tailor to the COVID-19 situation while providing aid to customers that may be in a financial bind as a result of COVID-19 measures.

"We've implemented a couple of measures that will help our customers during this time where a lot of customers could be experiencing financial hardships," said Mark Hanson, spokesman.

The company is suspending any disconnections of service related to nonpayment and filed requests within its regulatory commission for a waiver that allows the company to waive all late fees for a customer behind on payments. Cascade Natural Gas encourages customers to reach out to make payment plans if unable to make payments.

"We're still responding to emergency type calls 24/7, just like we always have," said Hanson.

Service techs will be taking social distancing measures when visiting homes and requesting customers share if they are being quarantined or not feel well.
