Chelan County Commissioner Bob Bugert will be dropping into Leavenworth for a community meeting on November 14 from 4-5 p.m. He will be at the Chelan County Fire District 3's station to answer residents' questions and participate in community dialogue.

"It seems to be a good way for me to get a better understanding of the community's needs and priorities," said Bugert.

Bugert holds a monthly informal meeting with the Plain community to hear what's important to them, hold a question and answer period and residents can share ideas with the commissioner. Leavenworth residents wanted to have a similar forum set up and Bugert obliged.

"It has been a fairly good way for me to have dialogue and for me to understand what the needs are in that Plain community," said Bugert. "This is the first of these meetings and I'm hoping to do it on a bimonthly basis to meet with folks, answer any questions they may have and share with them some of the initiatives that are underway with the county."

Bugert will cover topics ranging from budget, forest planning, short term rentals and transportation issues.
