Chelan County Fire District 1 officially moved into its new station at its new location, in the 700 block of North Wenatchee Avenue, the week of Thanksgiving. Chief Brian Brett reflects on the new spot after a month of settling in.

"It's been a blessing," said Chief Brian Brett. "It's a nice, new, clean facility. It's easy to clean and maintain cleanliness. Great diesel exhaust removal system."

According to Brett, the station has allowed the district to staff the Squilchuck location. The district is now covered from the Squilchuck area to downtown Wenatchee, Sunnyslope and Malaga.

"The changes have just been to our response plans and change our primary response routes," said Brett. "But our areas of coverage are better than they've ever been and we're really grateful."

The new location replaces the former headquarters located on the corner of Chelan Avenue and Yakima Street.
