Washington State Department of Commerce dispersed $15.1 million for 32 housing preservation projects and Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council received funds for two multifamily housing units. The funds will go toward the Crescent Village in Wenatchee and Sunset Ridge apartments in East Wenatchee.

"Really what the funds are for, is to help us do some renovation repair work to our two apartment complexes," said Alan Walker, executive director.

According to Walker, there's about 50 units total to preserve and the funds will primarily cover repair work on the outside. This includes roofing, siding and windows.

"And (we'll do) some additional work inside the units into individual units on a case by case basis and what's the highest priority," said Walker.

The money was from the state's Housing Trust Fund.

"We're excited to have the funds come in our community. These properties are approximately 30 plus years old and are certainly in need of a little attention," said Walker.
