The Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority has several funding opportunities for small businesses within Chelan and Douglas counties.

One program is supported with Community Development Block Grant funding for microenterprises. This funding is for businesses with five or fewer employees including the owner. The owner's income has to be at or below 80% area median household income based on the size of their household.

"The other grant that is available for the two county area is CARES Act funding that is coming from the Washington state Department of Commerce," said Ron Cridlebaugh, director of economic and business development.

The CARES Act funding for the two county area supports $5,000 grants for small businesses is reserved for businesses with 20 employees or less.

"The only disqualifier would be if the business had received $5,000 or more from the Working Washington Small Business grants," said Cridlebaugh.

According to Cridlebaugh, the city of East Wenatchee also still has CARES Act grant funding available for small businesses within the city.
