Chelan PUD Commissioners took the penultimate step in approval of their five-year strategic plan during Monday's meeting. Before officially adopting the new plan next month, first the commissioners heard from Justin Erickson, District Services managing director who summarized the public feedback.

"The vast majority of comments that we received were in relation to fiber and people's desire of a more expanded service."

According to the utility, Commissioners expressed gratitude for the several thousand customers who responded to surveys, served on topic teams, came to open houses and sent comments on the draft plan.

“It’s gratifying to hear that this process is valuable for the community,” said Commissioner Dennis Bolz.

Public comment will be accepted before the October 7th meeting when final adoption could occur. The plan's goals include investment and performance, financial resiliency, enhancing quality of life, and work to help with job creation and growth in the county.
