Just in time for summer, Chelan PUD has rolled out a new mobile device app, 'Current', for folks to stay up to date on lake and river information.

"The idea behind it was to use technology to provide more information, both for our customer-owners and our many visitors that are coming to enjoy boating and paddling and recreation on Lake Chelan and the Columbia River," said Kimberlee Craig, public information officer.

The app includes features like river conditions, lake levels and other popular information also offered on Chelan PUD's website that receives a lot of traffic from website visitors.

"We also know water conditions are dynamic, they can change quickly. So we wanted to make sure that folks had something they can check with immediately before they head out and while they're on the river," said Craig.

The app has two sections, one on the Columbia River and one on Lake Chelan. Folks can get a look at how the river might be fluctuating, the depth of the water at the end of the boat launch and stay up to date while on the river or lake. To find the app, visit the Apple Store, search 'Chelan PUD Current' and the app should appear.
