Chelan County PUD commissioners were presented proposed updates to the resolution that steers the surplus energy sales at Monday's meeting. The proposal for changes to the resolution is connected to the changes in the wholesale energy markets as a whole.

The current power sales resolution for Chelan PUD was approved in November 2011 and in the last nine years, the wholesale market has changed.

"There is a lot of change in the energy market," said Mike Bradshaw, PUD power trader. "We have more conservative limits than we currently have now."

The proposed changes to the resolution would help reduce price risks during increasing market swings and return more revenue for the environmental value, according to the Chelan PUD press release.

Commissioners will be asked to approve the updated power sales resolution at the March 16 board meeting.
