Chelan PUD and its local internet provider partners have set up 13 wi-fi hotspots for free access around the county and usage is going down with school being out and more people going outside.

Fiber and Telecommunications Managing Director Mike Coleman says they have not heard of any new demands for more locations.

"When you look at all of the hotspots available through either the library system, or the school system, there actually are a tremendous number of places within the county that individuals can get access to the internet."

Coleman also noted that their fiber lines are handling the load without too much trouble.
