Chelan’s Hospital Gets Fresh Start With New Name

Lake Chelan Community Hospital will soon transition to the name Lake Chelan Health as well as a new logo.

"Originally, we started this for rebranding because we've had some significant changes in leadership, direction, community perception," said Agustin Benegas, Communications and Wellness Manager.

The former logo and name was considered hard to use and unclear as well as legal concerns cropping up due to similarity to Blue Cross Blue Shield's logo.

The hospital received a letter from the health insurance company stating that the logo was infringing on Blue Cross's logo. The hospital was already moving in the direction of rebranding due to service changes as well.

"We went with Lake Chelan Health after a variety of interviews with folks in the community, our board," said Benegas. "Lake Chelan Health more accurately depicts the goal of our organization, which is to promote the best life by living healthy."

The legal name for the organization is still Lake Chelan Hospital District, but the consumer facing name will change.
