Columbia Valley Community Health (CVCH) service was named as the 2019 City of Wenatchee Civil Rights and Social Justice Award winner.    Each year, the City of Wenatchee’s  Advisory Council on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion honors individuals, groups or organizations for their civil and social contributions to the community.

Dulce Negrete, Community Services Manager at CVCH said “It was very surprising because it’s work we do everyday in the community”   KPQ news partner iFiber One news reported 53% of the patients CVCH served in 2017 were below the federal poverty line and 17% had no insurance.

“We let them know about services we have to offer at the clinic and other services we could tap into in the community.  To be recognized for doing these type of services ….it was just a great honor” said Negrete

The award ceremony was held Saturday at the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center during the Martin Luther King Multicultural Festival.

Columbia Valley Community Health services include medical, dental and behavioral treatment for patients in Wenatchee, East Wenatchee and Chelan.
