Congressman Newhouse Backs Pro-Life Position in Mississippi Abortion Supreme Court Case

Representative Dan Newhouse, along with more than 200 legislators, filed a bicameral amicus brief in the Supreme Court in support of Thomas Dobbs in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization.

"This is an opportunity for our country to uphold the commitment that we have made for the maintaining of the sanctity of life being one of our highest priorities," said Representative Newhouse. "As it's described in our Declaration of Independence, life, liberty and the pursuit happiness are God given rights for all people. Unborn children deserve that freedom as well."

The Women’s Health Organization, the only licensed abortion provider in Mississippi, brought suit against the state after 2018 legislation restricting abortions after 15 weeks.
