The Governor’s Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee (VAAC) has selected Coulee City for the Coulee City Veteran's Memorial as the recipient as one of the nine projects to receive funding for veterans’ memorials. Community organizations, non-profits, cities and municipalities that would use the funds to honor veterans and their families were eligible for the funding.

"I think funding these projects is important because it helps all of our community members know a little bit more about the service and sacrifice that veterans' and their families make for our state and communities," said Heidi Audette, communications director.

The grant money is raised through the sale of Veterans Remembrance Emblems, which are stickers, that include campaign ribbons and military awards, that can be placed on license plates.
