Data from the National Weather Service in Spokane focuses on last summer's record heat.

It's Inland NW Year in Review states that a stretch of unprecedented heat shattered records all over the region which resulted in damage to roadways and heat related fatalities.

Weather Service numbers show all-time high temperatures were recorded on June 29th in Wenatchee, Ephrata and Omak, with all three cities reaching well over 110 degrees.

The statement says unprecedented heat shattered records, prompted rolling power outages, caused pavement to "heave" on roads, and contributed to heat related fatalities across the Pacific Northwest.

The report released Monday notes that record heat took place between June 25 and July 4, 2021.

The record June 29 highs included 114 in Wenatchee (previous high 109 on June 28, 2015), 116 in Ephrata (previous high 115 on August 4, 1961) and 117 in Omak (previous high 114 on July 26, 1928).

The Weather Service release included a map pinpointing record high temperatures recorded in scores of locations in Washington and Oregon.
