Recreational burns are now banned in all of eastern Washington.

The state Department of Natural Resources is raising its Fire Danger Ratings for the entire region starting today.

DNR is placing the entire area under extreme danger for fire.

Recreational burns on public land, as well as burns under permits or rules, are banned until DNR changes its ratings.

Industrial fires are also limited.

Western Washington, west of the Cascade Mountains is under a high danger for fire with the same burning restrictions, while the state's far southwest area is under a moderate danger
