Douglas PUD is conducting maintenance work on a transmission tower along milepost 138 on Highway 97, which is about 2 miles south of Orondo. The PUD crew is constructing an access road to be able to reach the towers and part of that process will involve delayed traffic.

"There's some concerns that there is some rocks might roll down to the highway so we'll stop traffic for up to ten minutes, do some work, clear the highway if any rocks get down there and then let traffic through again," said Meaghan Vibbert, Douglas PUD Public Information Officer.

The flagger controlled traffic with expected delays will only be on Thursday from 8-5.
