Douglas, Grant PUD Crews Deal With Weather Caused Outage Saturday Night

A weather related power outage in Grant County knocked out power to 180 Douglas PUD customers in the Palisades Saturday evening for about 75 minutes. Douglas PUD reported service was restored by 11:45 pm.

The outage was the result of issues at the connection point with Grant PUD lines damaged by thunderstorms near Winchester. Customers in portions of Ephrata, Quincy and Soap Lake were effected for several hours.

Grant PUD crews were also busy Friday restoring service for hundreds of customers in the Cascade Valley area of Moses Lake after a vehicle hit a power pole and a haystack fire disrupted fiber-optic service in Grand Coulee and Electric City for up to five hours.
