Driver Dies in Rollover Outside of Quincy

A 42-year-old man is dead after a fatality accident on State Route 28 Tuesday morning about a mile west of Quincy.

According to the Washington State Patrol, law enforcement arrived around 11:40 a.m. to find Efren Murillo Tejeda of Quincy deceased at the scene with his 2006 Toyota Tacoma pickup blocking the road.

The patrol says that evidence suggests the victim did not notice the car in front of him slowing down to take a left turn and was traveling too fast to stop. He reportedly swerved to the right to avoid the car and left the roadway before overcorrecting and rolling back onto the road.

Murillo Tejeda was not wearing a seatbelt. Both directions were closed for about three hours, although there was a detour.
