East Wenatchee City Council Approves Rick Johnson as Police Chief

The East Wenatchee City Council officially confirmed Rick Johnson as the new Police Chief in a unanimous vote at their most recent meeting.

Johnson says he's excited to take on the new role.

"I've had a lot of people in the Valley and in our community here reach out to me and say they're excited for the opportunity to make some changes here and get this place to be a Police Department everybody can be proud of, both the City Council and everyone living here."

During the meeting, the Council also agreed to adjust the position's salary to more closely match similar positions.

Johnson is expected to start in the position June 1st.
