Calling all gardeners! If you'd like a plot in the Eastmont Community Garden, get your application in soon. Emily Fogle with WSU Master Gardeners says there are eight 20X30 plots remaining to grow what your heart desires.

"Everybody grows anything from all flowers, we had a dahlia grower last year, but most people are focused on vegetables. We have one gentleman who has extensive knowledge on what appears to me to be Japanese or Korean type vegetables, but it's pretty varied."

There are some rules, but Fogle says for the most part, it's about providing the land.

Fogle says getting involved can be good for you.

"Health benefits are eating fresh produce. You're getting out and some people believe that gardening is a passive sport but when you're tilling by hand or planting potatoes or clearing off weeds, it's quite physical. It can be as physical as you'd like it to be."

Fogle also said that she grows extra to donate to area food banks.
