Washington State Department of Ecology has invested $22 million in 21 projects in communities throughout the state, including the Methow Salmon Recovery Foundation.

The project based in the Okanogan and Methow river subbasins received $1 million to boost streamflows and aid recovery of endangered fish after wildfires.

"The funding supports projects that will increase water storage capacity, improve fish habitat, helps to acquire water rights in some cases and improve water management and infrastructure," said Keely Belva, communications manager.

The Streamflow Restoration grants are part of Ecology's commitment to local communities and demonstrating streamflow improvements benefit everyone.
