75 years to the date that Pangborn Airport was first commissioned a new extended runway is dedicated. Officials gathered today to celebrate the occasion. Airport Manager Trent Moyer says the new 7-thousand foot runway makes it more reliable for Horizon Air’s service to Seattle and increases the possibility for more commercial air service.
Marketing consultant, Jack Penning worked with the Chelan and Douglas County Port District to assess the airport’s future as a regional transportation hub. He talked with News Radio 560 KPQ’s Steve Hair . . .
The new runway is now in service. The extension was completed at a cost of just under 30 million dollars.
