An A & A Motorcoach bus caught fire and could be seen fully engulfed in flames just off of State Route 28, about 10 miles east of East Wenatchee, a little after 1:00 pm Friday afternoon.

Washington State Trooper John Bryant said the driver realized there were flames coming out of the front of the bus and quickly pulled onto Sunrise Lane.

"It's believed that the brakes caught on fire. Smoke ensued and then the bus really caught on fire." Bryant explained, "The driver was able to get away from the bus."

At no time were there any passengers on board.

The bus appeared to be a total loss.
