Former Chelan Fire and Rescue Chief Tim Lemon passed away Tuesday after complications from pancreatic cancer. Chief Lemon was involved in firefighting for 40 years, including the past 10 at the head of Chelan Fire and Rescue. New Chief Mark Donnell says Lemon's wife Cathy was with him.

"Please send Cathy and family your best wishes and prayers as they navigate this difficult time. Information on a memorial will follow as details develop. God Speed Tim. We will miss you so very much."

Chief Lemon’s fire service career spread over 39 years, starting as a volunteer in Pierce County Fire District #16 and eventually becoming a training and safety officer in King County. He served as fire chief in Maple Valley, Washington from 20001 to 2009 before relocating to Chelan where he held the position of fire chief for 10 years.

Lemon had recently been named the Chief at North Whidbey Fire and Rescue and according to their introduction of him, had planned to move back to the Island in November to be with his ailing mother-in-law.
