Free Potatoes and Onions in East Wenatchee Saturday

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in East Wenatchee will be giving away free bags of potatoes and onions to any member of the community this Saturday.

Member Cyndi Bird said they have been working with a company called AgriNorthwest, who will send 70,000 pounds of potatoes and 20,000 pounds of onions.

"We're just really grateful for these farmers. They're not making money off of their crops so we're really feeling for them. It's very generous of them to donate," Bird added.

The giveaway will be at the LDS Church at 667 10th Street Northeast Saturday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
