GM Steve Wright Leaving Chelan PUD at End of Year

Chelan County PUD General Manager Steve Wright announced Tuesday that he will be leaving the utility when his contract runs out at the end of the year.

According to a statement from Wright, the primary reason for his departure is that it's simply been long enough and he wants the opportunity to try something new. Wright has spent 40 years in the industry, 20 of which in leadership.

The Chelan PUD Board of Directors also released a statement, saying "Steve provided us advance notice that this was his plan. The Board will conduct a full national search for a new General Manager using the same recruiter who performed the last search for a General Manager. The Board is committed to getting public input as to the characteristics customer-owners want to see in a new General Manger. Opportunities for public input will be identified as the process moves forward."
