Governor Jay Inslee announced new criteria for counties to be eligible for a variance to move to Phase 2 of the reopening plan at Tuesday's 11 a.m. press conference. The new criteria will open up 10 more counties to apply.

"If they have less than 10 new cases per 100,000 residents over a 14 day span, this criteria for the next phase of our recovery plan is consistent with the CDC guidelines for opening regions nationwide," said Governor Inslee.

No North Central Washington counties are eligible under these new guidelines with only Spokane and Adams Counties qualifying in Eastern Washington. According to Inslee, with the new criteria, 22 counties are eligible for variance, or have been approved accounting for 30 percent of state's population.
