Governor Jay Inslee is announcing he will release his proposed budget for the 2022 legislative session December 13th.

Inslee said the legislature has been working on a transportation budget for several months, but there is still no deal.

"So my office will continue to focus on immediate needs such as electric vehicles, transit, ferries and matching funds for high-speed rail. Also, importantly, the preservation and rehabilitation of our existing transpiration network." stated Inslee, "That will be reflected in my budget."

Inslee added that Washington lawmakers have a tremendous opportunity to do good things this upcoming session, in part because of the state's fiscal situation and in part because of what he calls a need for action.

The short legislative session is set to begin January 10th and finish March 10th.
