A 63-year-old Grand Coulee woman was killed when the vehicle she was driving left Pendell Road off Crown Point Vista and ended up 200 yards off the roadway Tuesday night.

Douglas County Undersheriff Tyler Caille identified the woman as Maureen K. Horrobin.

"It is a decomposed gravel, granite roadway that does have some curves and some changing slopes on the roadway surface. Based off the collision investigation and marks on the roadway, speed is what was determined to be one of the contributing factors."

Caille says there were no other occupants of the vehicle and no indication the driver was wearing a seat belt.
