Fire personnel responded to a 2-alarm brush fire about a mile up Hay Canyon Road outside of Cashmere around noon Tuesday.

CCWIC Lead Operations Dispatcher Josh Gibbs explained that, at last check, the size of the fire was about 10 acres but the nature of the fire made it hard to tell.

Gibbs said, "The report that we got from Rivercom was the report of a brush fire near a shooting range. They did tell us it was burning in three separate spots."

Crews from Chelan County Fire District 1, 3, and 6, Cashmere Fire Department, the Forest Service and Department of Natural Resources (DNR) responded. 2 DNR helicopters are also helping to combat the fire.

There are no structures under immediate threat. The cause is under investigation.
