A hay truck fire near Vantage shut down Interstate 90 and caused a brush fire in the area Saturday. The cause is under investigation, but the fire from the truck caused black smoke to drift across the westbound lanes and visibility was so poor, the Washington State Patrol had to shut down the freeway temporarily. One of the lanes of I-90 had to remain closed overnight into Sunday morning. The firefighters were able to make good progress on the brush fire in the area Saturday which grew to at least 100 acres in size and required three helicopters, four engines, a bulldozer and two fire bosses.
