The hot and windy weather continues in Wenatchee Valley and the region with a number of fires dusting up Saturday.

Chelan County firefighters quickly knocked down a brush fire at a home that started while a person was mowing their lawn.

The fire took place near the corner of North Western Avenue and North Road at roughly 11 a.m. Several fire engines were initially called to the scene with smoke visible in the area.

Chelan County firefighters were also called to the scene of a fire in Okanogan County that has since been handled by the Okanogan County Sheriff's Office. This fire is a developing story with more details to come.

Red Flag Warnings for fires are in place across much of North Central Washington for both Saturday and Sunday afternoon and evening. An excessive heat warning expires at 9 pm Sunday.
