Governor Jay Inslee issued a proclamation Thursday in response to damage from several wildfires across the state.

According to the Governor's Office, the proclamation will help many impacted by wildfires with cash assistance for immediate needs. The proclamation declares that families and individuals without children that have been affected economically by the fires be eligible for benefits from the Family Emergency Assistance Program.

A one-time distribution limitation to the Family Emergency Assistance Program was also waived, as many families and individuals have already received benefits from the program as a form of COVID relief.
