Governor Jay Inslee has recently introduced legislation that would permanently prohibit the sale of flavored vape products. Our news partner, iFiberone, reports that the legislation would also tighten limitations on the amount of nicotine in vapor products, introduce new limits on marketing, require a manufacturing license for businesses producing the products and require ingredient disclosure to the state Department of Health. The proposed permanent ban comes on the heels of the emergency ban of the sale of flavored vapor products that was a September executive order signed by Insee and adopted by the state Board of Health. A health impact review conducted by the Board of Health in 2019  concluded that eliminating flavored vapor products would likely decrease initiation and use of vapor products and other tobacco products among youth and young adults.
