Lake Chelan Boating Club Invites Students to Apply for Scholarships

Lake Chelan Boating Club has opened it's scholarship application process for graduating high school seniors. The service and community based club offers two $500 scholarships to go toward an accredited college or trade school.

"Those are available to a graduating high school senior that is in either the Chelan or Manson school districts or they are a homeschooler that resides in the Chelan or Manson school districts," said Susan Peterson, scholarship director. "Or they are a family member of a boat club member."

The deadline to submit an application is April 1st.

"It's a really great scholarship that is sponsored locally and it's not a financial need based, it's academic and what a student gives back to the community. That's kind of person we like to see benefit from this scholarship," said Peterson.

Lake Chelan Boating Club has been a staple in the community since 1954 and promotes safe boating and recreation locally.
