Lake Chelan Community Hospital is extending a helping hand with free behavioral health service to members of the community facing mental health impacts from COVID-19. COVID-19 has caused a ripple effect on people's emotional stability such as anxiety, stress and depressed moods.

"The program was developed in conjunction with our CEO, George Rohrich, and Mike Steele with the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce to provide service to people who are affiliated with the Chamber that been affected by the coronavirus," said John Arnold, Lake Chelan Community Hospital psychologist.

This service is also available to Manson and Chelan school district employees and first responders.

According to Arnold, there is anticipation that there will be a lot of anxiety, discouragement and stress related issues surfacing during this time and wants to be of service to those in need.

"What we're offering at this point is to have an initial evaluation and two follow up sessions," said Arnold. "Then if people want or need more service, we'd make sure they get referred."
